Mr. Kamlesh Prakash was appointed Ambassador to the UAE in December 2015 and presented his Credentials to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai on 15 February 2016.
Ambassador Prakash will also serve as the non-resident Ambassador to the following countries of accreditation - Qatar,Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Iran, and as Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
This is his first Ambassadorial posting after an early career focus as a researcher, trainer, HR consultant and Productivity specialist. His last job was as Director of the National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC) of the Fiji National University (FNU).
Ambassador Prakash has over 10 years international experience with the Asian Productivity Organization based in Tokyo serving its 20 member countries in the Asia-Pacific region. He was also the Chairman of the Panel of Review of the Fiji Business Excellence Awards (FBEA) as well as for the Service Excellence Awards (SEA) both modelled after the Malcolm Baldrige awards in Fiji since 2011-2015.
Mr. Prakash has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics/Politics) from the University of the South Pacific and a Master of Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India along with several other training qualifications from Fiji and around the world.
The Ambassador is married with 3 children, two daughters and a son.
